In 1980 while in 6th form at school, Dawn used to work evenings and saturdays in a supermarket in Hull.
One day while working on the check-out she jumped thinking there was a big dog behind her chair, it turned out to be a lady bagging up her shopping.
The lady laughed because she had made Dawn jump and laughed even more when she said she had mistook her for a dog.
"Well" said the woman "I do have a big dog who needs walking if you have the time" "Ok" said Dawn.
Approx 2 1/2 months passed and the lady was again in the shop. " Never came to walk my dog, did you " she said.
"Sorry, I'll come tomorrow, where do you live" Dawn said.
Next morning Dawn and our little dog Bengie went to walk the big dog. On getting near the house her heart went into her mouth.
" Bloody hell, that is where that Dobermann comes charging out barking at people passing by" she thought.
Knocking on the door with the Monster himself screaming at the other side, Dawn had her first introduction to Trogan the Dobermann and a love affair was born.
He was for all his mouthing off, the Kindest, Lovable Clown of a dog.
Trogan went everywhere with her, whenever possible from then on and she decided she had to have her own dobermann.
Knowing absolutley nothing about shows, breeders, pedigrees etc she saw an advertisment for a litter of dobermann puppies in a pet shop in town and on taking the number down and enquiring about the price, £125, she nearly died. Earning £19 pound a week while at school it was going to take along time. She ended up begging and borrowing and got the £125 and her first Dobe puppy, 'Zeus' by Sunquist out of Chornytan what me at Karmadane.
When Zeus was about 6 months old we went to an Exemption show and entered him. Lisa took him in and standing behind small breeds didnt know whether to put him on the table or not.
He won all his classes that day and ended up been Reserve Best in Show.
We got the showing bug that day and as they say........
